Belle was named so by one of our Instagram supporters. One look at her tells you why. She is beautiful and despite how sick she may feel, her head is always held high. Belle was very weak when she was rescued from a government run shelter. After arriving in our care she was assessed by our vets who diagnosed her with heartworm. This is likely why she was dumped at the shelter. Her treatment started at the end of June and will take 4 months. We are hopeful for a full recovery to enable her to grab her second chance at a life! While we can't confirm the full breed, Belle has all the characteristics of a golden retriever we would expect. She is intelligent and affectionate. Playful and yet gentle. And of course her golden beauty is on full display. When recovered, Belle will do well in a home that is active and fun, she will make a great walking or running companion, and also comes with great snuggling skills.
Belle is not quite ready to be adopted into her new loving home. She has a couple more months of treatment left before travel preparations can begin. Belle is in need of donations to help support her medical needs and boarding costs. If you are able to contribute to her care, please click the sponsorship link below to help her!
