Maya was found by one of our volunteers during a visit to feed the abandoned dogs in the forest. The forest is a common dumping ground for locals and the city shelters to abandon dogs. Maya had an accident that caused her to lose one of her front paws. As a disabled dog, she did not have much of a chance of survival on the street. When we found out about Maya, we asked the volunteer to transfer her to our trusted boarding facility in Istanbul.
Maya has received the veterinarian care she needed to help her injured leg. Unfortunately, the only option was amputation. Thanks to your donations, she was able to get the surgery she needed. During Maya's surgery recovery, it was discovered she has bone cancer.
Maya is safe and happy at our preferred boarding facility in Istanbul. If the opportunity arises to safely bring Maya to a forever foster home here the USA we will do this. Until then she will stay safe and cared for in Istanbul.
Maya needs donations to help support her safe boarding costs to help keep her off the streets and cared for the remainder of her life. Please help us keep her safe by following the sponsorship link below!
