On the 14th of July, 2020 we were alerted to a horrific neglect and abuse situation by one of the volunteers we work with. Our hearts broke for this dog the moment we saw his first video. Thankfully the "owners" agreed to release the dog the next day- the only good thing they ever did for him. Working quickly with the volunteer we brought our guy in for emergency vet care. He has been diagnosed with leishmaniasis and anaplasmosis. Leishmaniasis is a parasite disease from bites of sand flies that causes skin reactions and potentially organ failure. Our vets successfully treated both diseases and now he is in remission.
Remo has spent the last few months healing and he is finally ready to find his people!
