Xavier (fka Oliver)

Xavier, fka Oliver, has found his forever home!

Oliver is a super sweet, one year old flat coat retriever mix. He was found in an open field all alone as a young puppy by a local rescuer. She took him into her home and gave him the care and love he needed to grow strong and healthy. The rescuer had been looking for a local permanent home for months with no success. Then she had to leave town for work. With Oliver needing a place to go or facing life back out on the street, we were alerted to his story. We transferred him to our trusted boarding facility in Istanbul at the end of August. Oliver is so kind and loving.

Maggie (fka Honey)

Maggie, fka Honey, has found her forever home!

Honey is truly as sweet as her name suggests. Abandoned in a cemetery to fend for herself, she was found there with another dog who sadly did not make it. Before Honey could be harmed and suffer the same fate as the other dog, the volunteer scooped her up and took her with her. Unfortunately after developing uveitis, Honey became partially blind. Uveitis is a painful inflammatory eye condition that can harm a dog's vision. As if all this was not enough, she also was later diagnosed with meningitis and could not walk as a result. After being treated for both conditions, Honey has made an amazing recovery and can now happily walk, run and play again! Even although her sight is still impaired, she can see a little and it doesn't slow her down one bit nor does it impact how joyful she is! She knows she has a second chance and this survivor girl is grabbing it with all four paws!

She arrived to SFO in November 2020 and into the arms of her new loving family.

Molly (fka Gigi)

Molly, fka Gigi, has found her forever home!

Molly was found on the city streets with an infection after being spayed and released by the city shelter. Her luck changed when the local veterinarian helped us get her to safety.  Now Molly is living the life in the Bay Area with her loving family.

From her new family: “Since joining our family in October, Molly has made quite the impact on our lives. From day one we have felt she was always meant to be part of our family. She joins us for weekend getaways that have included visits to some of our favorite destinations like Carmel, Point Reyes, Apple Hill, Sonoma and Baker Beach. She has not only stolen our hearts but also those of our friends and family. She loves long walks, removing squeakers from her toys, car rides, hands (to pet her), her blankey that she carries around the house and spending quality time with her new family. We look forward to the many more milestones and events that will include our Molly girl.”

Lido (fka Fluffy)

Lido, fka Fluffy, has found his forever home!

Lido was rescued from an unsafe city shelter, he has now found his forever home in Sacramento, CA!

From his new family: “Since we adopted Lido in October, we have seen him grow from a scared, confused dog into a pup that really understands he is home. He is so gentle and sweet, we can’t believe at one time someone let him live on the street. He loves boiled chicken, rides in the car, and his snuffle mat, and he makes us smile every single day. Rescuing a dog is not an easy thing to do, but we are so grateful that Rags2Rescued chose us to be Lido’s forever family, and we can’t imagine life without him!”

Molly (fka Summer)

Molly, fka Summer, has found her forever home!

Our beautiful Summer was dumped on the streets to fend for herself after we believe after her puppies were taken from her.

She was adopted by her loving family in October 2020

Duke

Duke has found his forever home!

Duke has the most gentle demeanor and he also wins our award for the pinkest and longest tongue ever! His tail is pretty awesome too and once you see the regal wag of it you'll know why his name is Duke! Our guy was found at a government run shelter after being dumped there because of an injury to his hind leg. Like so many of our rescued dogs, we aren’t sure what caused this injury. When we first met Duke, we immediately fell in love with his swagger and overall positive vibe. Duke had parvovirus when he was first rescued, but that didn't stop him! With the help of our vets, he fully recovered. Then, when the vet did an x-ray of his hind leg, we discovered he had a piece of metal stuck in there irritating his prior injury site and most likely from a surgical attempt to fix the past injury that proved unsuccessful. If left alone, the metal could potentially cause further damage and infection in the future. After building his immunity for months, the metal was removed by our vets.

Duke was adopted by his loving family in September 2020

Cali (fka Astoria)

Cali, fka Astoria, has found her forever home!

Astoria was found as a tiny puppy, abandoned and close to death alone in the forest. The volunteer who discovered her felt she wasn't going to make it and didn't want her to die alone without knowing any compassion or love, so she gently picked her up and brought her to the warmth of her own home. This volunteer is dedicated to helping save dogs lives and her house is home to many older dogs who aren't able to survive on the street. Her other rescued dogs immediately rallied around Astoria, nurturing and loving her like she was one of their own. Miraculously she survived that first night and with the care and compassion provided by the volunteer and her dogs. Astoria started to slowly improve day after day. Fast forward a few months and Astoria has developed into a strong, healthy girl who is ready to find her loving forever home.

She arrived to SFO in September 2020 and into the arms of her new loving family.

Ziggy (fka Kelso)

Ziggy, fka Kelso, has found his forever home!

The name Kelso is of Scottish origin and this boy for sure has more than a little braveheart in him! When our volunteer found Kelso at a Turkish run government shelter he had an open wound and was receiving no medical attention. The volunteer took him to the vet for assessment and surgery was performed to explore the cause. The vet discovered a tumor, which to everyone's relief turned out to be benign. The tumor was removed and healing in that area could begin. Kelso was then transferred into our care, and has now fully recovered. This guy is smart, goofy and fun with a beautiful energy that surrounds him. He is also down right hilarious at times. A little and big human lover, Kelso's main goal in life is to play, love and be loved!

Ziggy was adopted by his loving family in September 2020

Duffy

Duffy has found his forever home!

Our boy Duffy was injured while living on the streets. What happened to him will remain a bit of a mystery. Luckily, a volunteer found him and brought him to the clinic for treatment. With physical therapy, the vet was able to save his leg. Each day brings improvement and strength to that hind leg. He is fully functional on all four legs but could not survive on the street anymore given this old injury. Duffy is a super happy dog with lots of energy, constant smiling and body wagging - thus the blurry photos! Duffy would be happiest in a home with little or no stairs and where he is able to enjoy short walks with his loving family.

Duffy was adopted by his loving family in September 2020

Cinnamon

Cinnamon has found her forever home!

Cinnamon was thrown out to live on the streets when she was no longer wanted by her previous owner. She is affectionate, loving and a very friendly girl who enjoys the company of big and little humans! She is playful and would make a great walking or running companion. Cinnamon tends to chase cats, and will do best in a home with no cats. She is one special dog who is going to complete a family!

Cinnamon was adopted by her loving family in September 2020

Finn

Finn has found his forever home!

Finn was rescued as a very sick dog from a city shelter. With the help and care of the wonderful team at our partner boarding facility he made a full recovery! Finn arrived to his family in the Bay Area in September 2020

From his new family: “Finn was the best decision we ever made. After finding R2R on Instagram, and seeing pictures of the cutest little street puppy we were convinced adopting a dog that we had never met from across the world was crazy. But we kept talking about him every day for a month until we decided to pull the trigger. The R2R fam couldn’t have been more amazing during our wait for Finn. When Finn arrived we were so nervous not knowing what his temperament would be. Finn from the day we met him has been the sweetest most loving boy. He wants to make friends with every human, puppy and kid he meets. Watching him grow and learn how to be a companion and not just a dog on the street trying to survive has been incredible. We ask each other daily how it is possible that we got so lucky. Finn loves food, playing with sticks, hiking and sleeping with his pawrents on the couch. We can’t thank R2R enough 💕 You changed our lives.”

Lily

Lily has found her forever home!

This sweet girl has been through a lot. Lily is a distemper survivor and was saved from a Turkish shelter 1 ½ years ago. The disease left her with a nerve spasm in her back, which is most noticeable when she is standing still but otherwise, she can walk and run normally. This disability has made it hard for her to find the love of a forever home. She had been living in a volunteer’s garden while he tried to find a home to take her in. She was constantly bullied by the other dogs who live there and had to eat mostly bread to survive. In mid-March 2020, Lily was transferred to a boarding facility under our care to wait for her forever home.

Lily was adopted by her loving family in the SF Bay Area in August 2020

Oatly (fka Jack)

Oatly, fka Jack, has found his forever home!

He was abandoned by his owner and left on the street to fend for himself. Unfortunately, this sweet boy then became the focus of other dogs in the area who started bullying him. Luckily a rescue volunteer found him and told us about his story.

Oatly was adopted by his loving family in the SF Bay Area in August 2020

Keeta (fka Jane)

Keeta, fka Jane, has found her forever home!

Jane was found in November 2019 after a villager tied her to the back of a car, dragged her away and abandoned her. But with the help of a local volunteer she was taken to the vet and given treatment for her wounds.

After treatment, and without a home Jane had to be released back to the streets. That’s when we heard about her story and made it our mission to find her a home! Jane is the inspiration for our rescue and our pledge to do better for these innocent souls that have only known a horrible, painful life.

Jane made the journey from Sinop to Istanbul on December 27, 2019 to stay at a boarding facility while she waited for her flight to the US and her forever home. She arrived at SFO in February 2020 and into the arms of her new loving family.
